Intel發表（可能是）Mac Pro用的「Xeon 5600」系列與 Core i7-980x。

Intel目前已發表了新的4/6核心伺服器/工作站級CPU「Xeon 5600」系列，以及一般消費市場向的「Core i7-980x」。Intel宣稱新的Xeon 5600系列效能比Xeon 5500系列要高出60%，同時Xeon 5500系列也是目前Mac Pro所採用的CPU。
