水果專利 - 螢幕邊框感應介面？

根據MacRumors的消息，Apple在2006年6月23日提出申請的「螢幕周圍環繞著觸控感應斜面的電子裝置 （Electronic device having display and surrounding touch sensitive bezel for user interface and control ） 」目前已正式得到專利。

此份專利敘述為在螢幕的邊框配置觸控感應器來操作介面，螢幕邊緣同時會顯示各種功能的位置。不過如果我記的沒錯的話，類似的概念早在iriver的U10似乎就已經出現過了？

倒是這設計如果設計的好的話，或多或少可以彌補一下小型手持裝置（iPhone / iPod touch 等）先天螢幕面積太小造成操作不便的問題吧？
